VALDOSTA – A 47-year-old Jacksonville man was arrested by the Valdosta Police Department for Ecstasy trafficking.

Release:

Arrested: Ervin Leonard Flowers, African American male, 47 years of age, Jacksonville, FL resident

On June 24, 2024, at approximately 6:08 am., Valdosta Police Officers responded to Hampton Inn and Suites for a call for service regarding suspicious activity. When officers arrived at the hotel, they contacted Ervin Leornard Flowers, 47 years of age, inside his room. Officers observed that the room was ransacked, hotel property was damaged, and a handgun was lying on the bed. Upon securing the handgun, officers observed bullet holes in the window, as well as shell casings on the floor. Witnesses told officers they had heard loud noises coming from inside the room. Through investigation, officers determined that Flowers had shot the window of the hotel room. Inside the room, officers found over 70 grams of Ecstasy which was packaged in a manner indicative of narcotics sales.

Flowers was taken into custody and was transported to Lowndes County Jail.  He has been charged with:

  • Trafficking in Ecstasy-felony;
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon-felony;
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony-felony;
  • Criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree-felony; and
  • Reckless conduct-misdemeanor.

“Our officers did an outstanding job handling this case.  Due to the surrounding circumstances, this could have ended much differently.  We are very thankful that no one was injured.” Said Chief Leslie Manahan.
