VALDOSTA – The City of Valdosta invites residents to join in for a community road cleanup and curb marker event.

Release:

The City of Valdosta’s Public Works Department and Stormwater Division are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to the community for a special event to enhance the city’s beauty and environmental health.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, January 27thTime: 9 AM – 11 AMMeeting Location: 1610 Northside Drive

This community initiative encourages residents to come together and contribute to the cleanliness of the city’s streets. Join the City of Valdosta as it embarks on a collective effort to pick up litter along Northside Drive (from Barack Obama Blvd to Caldwell Dr.), ensuring the community remains beautiful and environmentally friendly.

However, the event goes beyond just cleaning. As part of the City of Valdosta’s steadfast commitment to clean water,  staff and volunteers will also be marking storm drains with vibrant and eye-catching markers. The significance lies in the fact that what goes down these drains eventually finds its way into our creeks and rivers. By participating, residents are actively contributing to the preservation of the local waterways.

The City of Valdosta invites everyone to bring nothing but comfortable shoes and a positive attitude. The City will provide the necessary supplies. This event is an excellent opportunity to connect with neighbors, friends, and family while collectively working towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable community.
