VALDOSTA – A Valdosta man was arrested for burglary and theft for breaking into a business and stealing a motor vehicle.

Release:

Arrested: Andre Morrison, African American male, 41 years of age, Valdosta resident

On April 15, 2023, a Valdosta Police Officer responded to a business in the 1800 block of South Patterson Street after a burglar alarm was activated. When the officer arrived on the scene, along with the business owner, they observed that someone had damaged the front door and made entrance into the business. When the officer watched the surveillance video from the business, she immediately identified the offender as Andre Morrison, 41 years of age, from having previous contact with him. During the investigation, evidence showed that Morrison took a set of keys to a vehicle from inside the business. Morrison then used the keys to take the vehicle from the business that was in the parking lot, without the owner’s consent and drove it away from the scene.

On April 17, 2023, officers obtained arrest warrants on Morrison for:

  • Burglary-felony;
  • Criminal damage to property-felony; and
  • Theft by taking motor vehicle-felony.

On April 19, 2023, an officer observed Morrison walking in the 1700 block of Airport Road. Morrison was arrested without incident and transported to Lowndes County Jail.
