VPD traffic stop results in narcotics arrest

VALDOSTA – A traffic stop made by a Valdosta Police Department Patrol Officer resulted in an arrest for Possession of Narcotics.

Release:

On July 13, 2022, at approximately midnight, a Valdosta Police Department Patrol Officer made a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Lankford Drive. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Kendarius Pierce, drove the vehicle into an adjacent apartment complex parking lot. Pierce then exited the vehicle and fled into an apartment. The officer pursued Pierce into the apartment and detained him.

The vehicle Pierce fled from was found to contain over 4 ounces of marijuana, two bottles of Promethazine, a digital scale, and a box of plastic bags both commonly used in the sale and distribution of illegal drugs. Pierce was arrested and transported to Lowndes County Jail where he was charged with the following:

Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (felony);
Sale and distribution of dangerous drugs (misdemeanor);
Possession of drug-related objects (misdemeanor);
Obstruction of a law enforcement officer (misdemeanor); and
Traffic violations, reckless driving, suspended driver’s license, defective equipment.
