ATHENS, Ga. – Everybody loves a good love story, and Chance Veazey’s got one for the ages.

A standout Tift County High School baseball player who hit .444 his senior year, he headed off to UGA to become a Bulldog. His freshman year he hit a home run in a practice game right before the season began, but Veazey would never get a chance to play.

Paralyzed in 2009 from the waist down when a scooter he was riding on collided with a car on UGA’s campus, his dreams were seemingly shattered.

His girlfriend at the time, Molly, stuck by him as he pressed on through difficult rehabilitation at Shepherd Center, according to a report from 13WMAZ.

His Aunt Maria Cottle, wrote on YouTube that Molly had been “his rock,” but they wound up breaking up and stayed apart six years.

Now?

They’re not only back together, but married.

Cottle shared the incredible video of their dance online on January 19, 2020.

My nephew, Chance Veazey, and his beautiful bride, Molly Veazey, surprised his mom and dad and their many wedding guests with a special first dance. Chance is a former University of Georgia baseball player. He was injured his freshmen year in college and has been wheelchair bound since that time. He was dating Molly at the time of his injury. She was his rock during his recovery. They broke up a while later and rekindled their relationship after a six year separation. They gave their love a #SecondChance and were married this past weekend. Chance and Molly surprised everyone when a few of Chance’s best friends helped him stand for the first dance with his new bride. Molly and Chance shared the special moment with his mom, Darby Veazey. It was a very emotional moment for everyone! I would love for everyone to see the special love that they share!
