ATLANTA – Georgia State Transportation Board Member was recognized among top 100 Most Influential Women in Georgia Engineering.

Georgia State Transportation Board (STB) Member Cathy Williams was recently recognized for the first time as one of Engineering Georgia magazine’s “100 Most Influential Women in Georgia Engineering.” The annual list celebrates the impactful contributions of women leaders across the industry in Georgia. 

First elected to the State Transportation Board in 2023, Williams represents Georgia’s Congressional District 2 (CD 2), which is the largest congressional district in the state by land area and includes Baker, parts of Bibb, Calhoun, Chattahoochee, Clay, Crawford, Decatur, Dooly, Dougherty, Early, Grady, parts of Houston, Lee, Macon, Marion, Miller, Mitchell, parts of Muscogee, Peach, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Seminole, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor, Terrell, Thomas and Webster Counties.. She previously served as president & CEO of NeighborWorks Columbus, as an elected district representative on the Muscogee County School District Board, a life director of the National Association of Home Builders and various leadership roles across numerous local, state and national boards.

For the eighth consecutive year, Engineering Georgia magazine has included the members of the STB and Georgia DOT in this annual listing recognizing the contributions and influence of the most notable women in Georgia engineering. Georgia DOT is well-represented on the 2025 list which features five STB members and five Georgia DOT team members. 
 
The State Transportation Board is comprised of 14 congressional districts, each represented by a board member elected by a majority of a General Assembly caucus from their congressional district. Board members serve staggered five-year terms and guide the planning, development, and management of the department including critical transportation projects in the state of Georgia.

Engineering Georgia’s list of “100 Most Influential Women in Georgia engineering” is in the May/June issue of the publication.
