ATLANTA – The GBI is investigating a shooting that occurred during a traffic stop turned pursuit with a GSP Trooper.

On Monday, September 2, 2024, at 6:21 pm, a Trooper from Post 13 Tifton attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Allenville Road, in Berrien County.  The driver of the vehicle refused to stop for the Trooper, initiating a pursuit.  The Trooper performed a PIT maneuver which led to gunfire.  The incident is being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
