LOWNDES CO – The Vikings will kick-off the 2024 football season against the Jenkins High School Warriors this Friday.

Football 2024 begins this week as our Vikings open the regular season when they host the Jenkins High School Warriors from Savannah. The Warriors advanced to the quarterfinals of the 4-A football playoffs last season. This will be the first of five non-region games.
Following Jenkins the Vikings will host Jonesboro-Mt Zion on August 23. This game will be senior night and all football, band, cheerleader, and ROTC seniors will be honored in pre-game ceremonies. Lowndes will close out August when they host Central Gwinnett from Lawrenceville, GA.
In September, the non-region schedule continues with the Manatee High School Hurricanes on September 6. Manatee is the pre-season 12th ranked team in Florida Division 5A. This will be 8th grade band night and military appreciation night. The 8th grade band will perform pre-game with the Georgia Bridgemen. All active duty and retired military personnel and their guest will be admitted free on the visitor side of the stadium. Homecoming 2024 will take place on September 13 and the Vikings will host the Kell High School Longhorns from Marietta. Kell won the Region 6-5A championship in 2023.
After an open week, the Viking will travel to Colquitt and Tift to begin region play. They will finish the year by hosting Camden, Richmond Hill, and Valdosta.
Martin stadium has a clear bag policy for all fans entering the stadium. Also all middle and elementary students entering the stadium will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. These students will need to sit with a parent or guardian.
Season tickets for the 2024 season are still available. Reserve seat packages for all eight (8) home games are $80 each. Individual game tickets are on sale the week of each game. Reserved seats for the Jenkins game are $10 each. All tickets at the gate are $12 each. Season ticket packages and individual game tickets can be purchased from the athletic ticket office. In keeping with GHSA policies, all fans, except babies in arms, must have a ticket.
The athletic ticket office is located in the Board of Education building on Norman Drive. The entrance is on the east end across from Goo Goo Car Wash. Ticket office hours are Monday – Thursday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm and Friday 9:00 am till 1:00 pm.
