Renowned News Anchor will Attend PRSA Luncheon

VALDOSTA, Ga.— News anchor Abby Walton will be a featured speaker at February’s Public Relations Society of America luncheon. Tickets to attend start at $10 for students.

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) South Georgia Chapter will host a luncheon Tuesday, February 25 at the Valdosta State University STEAM Center.

The featured speaker, Abby Walton, will discuss the power of local media relations and strategies to develop and maintain strong media relationships.

“Abby has a wealth of knowledge to share,” said Adam Floyd, South Georgia PRSA President. “Businesses and organizations throughout our area have fascinating stories to tell, and what they can learn from Abby through this presentation will help them do that.”

Walton joined WCTV Tallahassee as an anchor/reporter in 2014 and also anchors FOX 49 News at 10. She previously anchored the number one morning show in Terre Haute, Indiana where she was recognized by the Associated Press of Indiana for her reporting on autism. Walton has also received the prestigious Gracie Award from the Alliance for Woman in Media which recognizes exemplary programming created by women, for women and about women.

The PRSA luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. at the VSU STEAM Center at 1302 North Patterson St. in Valdosta.

Tickets are $10 for students, $15 for PRSA Members and $20 for non-PRSA members.
