MADISON COUNTY, Fla. – Last week several Madison County homeowners’ wells tested positive for both e. coli and coliform.

The City of Valdosta’s record-breaking December sewage spill of 7.5 million gallons continues to reveal its effects.

The residents live in the Blue Ridge Landing neighborhood, which is approximately one miles from the Withlacoochee River, WCTV reported.

Florida-based health departments in Madison, Hamilton and Suwannee Counties have issued health advisories. The last one issues in early January has been lifted as of last Friday, WCTV’s Emma Wheeler reported, adding that local health departments offer test kits and info to help test residential well water.
