NEW YORK, NY – New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is planning to hold a press conference Friday to announce his retirement, according to ESPN.
After 16 seasons with the Gianta, Manning, 39, is reportedly about to wrap up his career. Manning played 236 games for them since being drafted in 2004 and has won two Super Bowls as well as earned MVP honors in both.
The Giants will put Daniel Jones in Manning’s shoes, drafted in 2019. Jones took over as the team’s started after two games.
According to Sports Illustrated, Manning has 57,023 passing yards, 366 touchdowns and 244 interceptions in his career, with a 117–117 record as a starter, ranking seventh all-time in passing yards and passing touchdowns in NFL history.
Manning never missed a game due to injury and has previously made it clear he had no interest in being a backup QB or playing for another team, SI reported.
