UPDATE: VALDOSTA — A female was shot in the back around 2:30 a.m. Monday morning.

The Valdosta Police Department reported that 22-year-old Kenyetta Johnson was shot by 29-year-old Ervin Robinson, after he accidentally fired the gun into her back.  Johnson was sitting in the front passengers seat of a vehicle, containing three other people when she was shot. The three were parked at a convenience store on 600 E. Hill Avenue.

Johnson was rushed to South Georgia Medical Center with lower back gunshot wounds.

SGMC officials called the Valdosta Police Department with information about the vehicle and the people inside of it. Police located the vehicle and one of the men on the 900 block of Ponderosa Drive.

Robinson has not been located and has been issued arrest warrants for Reckless Conduct and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Johnson was reported in stable condition but has not been released from SGMC.
