AMERICUS — Officials have arrested a 5th man in the death of mother and son, Dallas and Bonnie Freeman.  Demetrious Hubbard has been arrested and charged with murder.

Ruhemmeion King was charged with the mother and son’s murders as well. The other three, Reginald Mathis,Brandon Prince and Qwinterrious Dodson were charged with theft by receiving stolen property. Mathis and Dodson also received charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Officials reported that he shot the two multiple times before setting their house on fire.

King, Mathis,Prince and Dodson were denied bond at their court appearance on Wednesday.

According to a WALB report, “Sumter County Sheriff Pete Smith said as many as 10 arrests could be made in the case.”

A safe filled with guns was stolen from the home. Officials have been able to recover a lot of the home’s stolen property.

Officials believe the fire and shooting is gang related.
