LOWNDES CO. Ga. – Friday, December 6 is a big evening for all your Christmas tree lovers.

The Lowndes County Tree Lighting on the lawn of the historic downtown Valdosta courthouse will be at 6 p.m. and the most popular Santa Claus will also be there for the kiddies to get their pictures taken with and of course give him all their wish-lists for gifts.

Lowndes County Board of Commissioners Chairman Bill Slaughter will be there to read “The Night Before Christmas” and refreshments will be available.

Get there early and you can hit the City’s tree lighting just down the street at City Hall at 5:30 p.m., then stroll down for double Christmas delight to catch the County’s event.
