
VALDOSTA – For the third time in two days, a Valdosta Walmart has been evacuated due to a bomb threat.
At approximately 12:55 pm, the Valdosta Police Department was dispatched to the Walmart located at 340 Norman Drive in reference to a bomb threat.
The store was evacuated, and the Valdosta Police Explosive Detective K-9 and Moody Explosive Ordinance Disposal Dogs conducted a sweep of the store. A detective arrived and took over the investigation into this threat, as well as two threats made to another Valdosta Walmart store yesterday.
At approximately 3:10 p.m., all employees and customers were allowed back inside the store after it was deemed safe.
The event is the third bomb threat at a Valdosta Walmart in two days. Walmart in the 3200 block of Inner Perimeter Road was evacuated twice after a two bombs threats Monday afternoon.
VPD said that no devices were found at the store but were still investigating the threat.
“At this point, a detective has been assigned to all three cases and currently is following up on information received from both Wal-Mart facilities,” said VPD Chief Brian Childress
