VALDOSTA – A Valdosta man’s arrest warrant for reckless driving leads to a separate arrest of a Valdosta woman for narcotics.

Arrested 2: Darrell Rochester, African American male, 20 years of age, Valdosta resident
On Friday, June 28, 2024, Valdosta Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for reckless driving. The driver, later identified as Darrell Rochester, 20 years of age, immediately ran from the car. At the time of the traffic stop officers were not able to locate Rochester.

On July 2, 2024, officers obtained arrest warrants for Rochester for reckless driving and two counts of misdemeanor obstruction of an officer. After obtaining the arrest warrants, members of the department’s Power Squad, K9 Unit, and Narcotics Detectives, went to Rochester’s residence to arrest him on the warrants. Upon arrival at the residence, Isabel Hunter, 19 years of age, opened the door to the residence. Detectives immediately noticed the odor of marijuana emitting from the home.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the execution of the search warrant, detectives seized over 311 grams of marijuana, along with items and currency that are indicative of narcotics sales.
Hunter was arrested at the residence and transported to Lowndes County Jail. She has been charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute (felony) and possession of drug-related items (misdemeanor).
Rochester was located at his place of employment, where he was also arrested without incident. He was transported to Lowndes County Jail for the active arrest warrants related to the traffic stop, along with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute (felony) and possession of drug-related items (misdemeanor).
