VALDOSTA – After winning the NL East last year, the Atlanta Braves hope to do that again although they are projected to finish 3rd in the National League East.
Atlanta won 90 games last year and won their very first playoff game at Suntrust Park against the Los Angeles Dodgers last October. Things are looking up for Atlanta this season.
The Braves have added a great deal of star power over the off-season. They have added former Braves pitcher, Brian McCann, back to the team and infielder, Josh Donaldson.
They have Ronald Acuña Jr., Ozzie Albies, Freddie Freeman, Dansby Swanson and others from last year.
Atlanta wasn’t expected to do a lot this past season with a lot of young talent coming in but they proved everyone, including Braves fans, wrong last year.
Player Empirical Comparison and Optimization Test Algorithm (PECOTA) has the Braves to tied for third in the NL East this year. Let me remind you, Atlanta was projected to finish last in the NL East last year.
