MOULTRIE – Authorities have arrested and charged a man with the murder of five individuals who were shot and burned in a house fire last weekend in Colquitt County.
Jeffrey Peacock, 25, has been charged with murder and arson in the deaths of Jordan Croft, Jonathan Edwards, Alicia Norman, Jones Pidcock and Reid Williams.
The five young adults were found in a burned house over the weekend but autopsies showed each of the victims were shot inside the home. The house was burned in an attempt to cover up the murders, according to agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Officials originally stated that Peacock had escaped the flames and was taken to the hospital.
