VALDOSTA – VocalFlo presented a donation check for more than $1,500 to the South Street Community Care House to help with an expansion drive.

Release:

VocalFlo’s celebration of Black Music Month started with their 2nd Annual South Georgia Gospel Music Festival on June 8th, and ended with a check presentation of all donations and a portion of sponsorships to the South Street Community Care House on July 1st.

Each year, VocalFlo uses its Gospel Music Festival platform to highlight and bring awareness to a non-profit doing great things in the community. The South Street Community Care House, under the direction of Sandra Tooley, began in 2010 with a simple desire to feed a group of hungry kids before school, and to provide a safe haven for them during the summer. It has since grown to her distributing between 800 and 1000 food boxes every Tuesday and Thursday to Lowndes and surrounding counties, being a place for people to come and get their blood sugar and blood pressure checked, and receive information about resources available to help those in need.

Through the sponsorships and donations of the community received for the entire month of June, a check for $1,520.00 was presented to help the South Street Community Care House in their expansion drive!

The South Street Community Care House is always looking for volunteers. If you, or someone you know would like to volunteer, or receive a food box, please visit on Tuesday and Thursday between 11am and 2pm. Address: 311 South Street, Valdosta GA 31601
