VALDOSTA – The South Georgia Regional Commission is working towards moving commercial truck traffic out of downtown Valdosta.
Last month, the commission worked on multiple options to move the traffic, and now they are working on yet another alternative.
A new plan would combine the different route options to mitigate truck traffic. The commission is also considering a short term option to develop Savannah Avenue as a truck route and long term options like a full bypass.
The community is invited to view the new plan and give feedback at an open house Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Southern Georgia Regional Commission office.
