ALBANY – A weekend accident claimed the life of a man over the weekend.

WALB is reporting Jimmy Wayne Thompson, 65, died yesterday in a single car accident on North Jefferson Street in Albany.

About 12:15 Saturday, Dougherty County police responded to an accident where a single vehicle had hit a tree.

The Dougherty County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the Lee County man Sunday, also confirming to WALB that he died on the scene of the crash.
