VALDOSTA — A suspect has been arrested in connection with the discharge of a firearm and damaging a vehicle related to a domestic dispute.
The incident occured on the afternoon of June 2. Valdosta Police Department Detectives arrested Earl Horne, III, 36 of Valdosta, in relation to the discharge of firearms on Simspon Street. Horne was arrested at his place of employment without incident.
Horne has been charged with Reckless Conduct (misdemeanor) as he discharged a firearm at a vehicle in the immediate presence of a person who was standing near the vehicle. He has also been charged with Criminal Damage to Property – 2nd degree (Felony) for causing damage to the vehicle with damages exceeding a cost of $500.00. The weapon has not been recovered at this time.
Detectives are still interviewing Horne and he has been transported to the Lowndes County Jail.
Police note that this was not a random shooting.
