SYLVESTER — A former Magistrate C0urt Clerk has been arrested on obstruction charges.
WALB is reporting that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested Tammy Hall Powell, of Sylvester, a former Worth County Magistrate Court Clerk, Monday night.
She is being charged with Obstruction –Hindering Law Enforcement and Violation of Oath of Office.
The report states a press release from the GBI as stating Powell, who just resigned from her position in June, has been charged over providing confidential information about a search warrant to William Neal Gay, of Sylvester.
Gay then provided the information to other individuals, jeopardizing a law enforcement investigation. Gay has also been arrested and charged with Obstruction – Hindering Law Enforcement and False Statements.
Powell was booked into the Worth County Jail. Gay was booked into the Dougherty County Jail.
