VALDOSTA — Valdosta Police report the arrest of a Valdosta man on charges of Felony Child Molestation.

Wednesday, Valdosta Police Department Detectives arrested Joseph Davis Sheppard III, 32 of Valdosta, for Felony Child Molestation.  Allegations of child molestation were made on July 2.

Since then, detectives have been investigating the case and gathering information. The charges involve an indecent act performed by Sheppard on a 14-year old victim at Sheppard’s residence in the 2800 block of Bud McKey Drive.

The victim and Sheppard are not related but were acquaintances. Sheppard was arrested without incident and is being held in the Lowndes County Jail awaiting judicial proceedings
