VALDOSTA — Georgia Power has contracted the routine tree pruning maintenance work along several heavily traveled streets in Valdosta to ensure the safety and reliability of the Georgia Power distribution electrical system. The work is scheduled to begin Monday, June 22 and will be completed by Friday June 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day, weather permitting.

This work will require temporary lane closures on sections of Gornto Road (east of Jerry Jones Drive for approximately a half of a mile), Jerry Jones Drive (between Gornto Road and Country Club Drive), and on Country Club Drive (between Eager Road and North Valdosta Road).

All necessary road signs will be in place to alert motorists, and flaggers will be utilized to help minimize lane closure duration. As always, motorists should use extreme caution and pay close attention to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic while driving in this area or, if possible, avoid these areas during the June 22 workweek.
