VALDOSTA — More controversy for Valdosta State University’s management team and President as the school’s Chief of Staff resigned after a run-in with campus police.

Kimberly Luse, hired in July of 2014 by school President William McKinney as the schools Chief of Staff, was walking by the Palms Dining Hall after the President’s Scholarship Gala shortly before midnight on Friday.  VSU Police noticed a woman that appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, according to reports on WCTV.

Once the officers confronted the woman, they learned it was Luse.

The report quoted Andy Clark, the Vice President of Enrollment, Marketing, and Communications at the University as saying, “I am not at liberty to speak about her reasons behind resigning, I just know that she resigned yesterday afternoon, and that basically she tendered that resignation to the President, and beyond that I cannot discuss any personnel matters.”

WCTV reports that they have received a supplemental police report from VSU and has requested a full report via the Open Records law.  The school has not yet responded, but said they will “within time allowed by law.”

Luse, according to the report, was not charged as of late Tuesday.
