VALDOSTA — Lowndes County Commission Chairman Bill Slaughter joined The Morning Drive with Chris Beckham to discuss the annual budgeting process that is under way. A budget must be adopted before the County’s next fiscal year begins on July 1.

Of note is Slaughter’s explanation that the county does not have a funding shortfall, only a revenue gap with the budget requests of each department. Budget trimming is a common task annually for the county government as departments not only offer their needs, but their wants for the coming fiscal year.
