PERRY, FL – A WCTV report says a former Taylor County Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested for using excessive force during an April Arrest.
Body camera footage of the arrest was reviewed and started an internal investigation of Michael O’Connor. According to the Sheriff’s office, the person arrested did not request the investigation.
It was determined that O’Connor had violated use of force and professional conduct policies, and he was charged with one count of official misconduct and two counts of battery.
Sherriff Padgett of the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office said improper or excessive force will not be tolerated.
