ATLANTA — Watch how you file that state tax return.  State authorities have pledged to be extra diligent in searching for fraud resulting from online filing.

Lynne Riley, the Georgia Revenue Commissioner, stated in a report last week that refunds filed through software such as Turbo Tax will be delayed due to an increase in reports of suspicious filings.

Reports stated that as of last week, over 73,000 returns have been filed in Georgia.  How many of those are under investigation seem unclear at this time.  But state authorities stress filers who use online filing software should reset passwords and change user names to deter fraud and hacking.
