Valdosta, Ga.— Valdosta State University’s women’s volleyball team recently earned the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2019-2020 season. Teams to receive the award topped last year’s recipients by 200 teams, totaling 1,315 recipients. To earn this reward, the volleyball team must uphold a minimum GPA of 3.30. There were a total of seven GSC volleyball teams (Montevallo, Auburn Montgomery, Lee, Alabama Huntsville, Mississippi College, West Georgia, and Union) to earn this award alongside the VSU Blazers.
