GHSA

After monitoring worsening weather conditions and consulting with the National Weather Service and Mercedes-Benz Stadium officials, the GHSA has decided to postpone the scheduled 4:30 p.m., and 8:00 p.m., state championship football games Friday night.

Those games will be played at a date to be determined and fans should hold onto their tickets, as those tickets will be honored when the postponed games are made up.

The first game on Saturday between Irwin County and Clnch County also has been postponed. A decision about the remainder of Saturday’s schedule is forethcoming.

ATLANTA – The GHSA State Football Championship will take place this weekend, Dec. 8-9, at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Five South Georgia teams (Coffee County, Lee County, Clinch County, Irwin County and Colquitt County) will be making the trip.
