MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the G.O.L.F.E.R. program is to provide the children of Valdosta housing Authority an opportunity to enhance their lives by giving them life skills they may otherwise not receive. These skills include self-discipline, teamwork, integrity, self-esteem, education/career focus and community involvement.
This mission will be accomplished by teaming the children with responsible adults who will set a positive example for them. There will be numerous challenges for the children to actively participate in: etiquette courses, visiting senior citizens, interacting with authority figures and expanding their knowledge in a variety of subjects.
The children selected will have already set high standards by maintaining good grades and not having disciplinary problems in their schools. The adults will attempt to assist the children finding possible scholarships to further their educations.
Donations can be made to the G.O.L.F.E.R. program payable to LODAC. LODAC is a 501(c) 3 and is an umbrella for the G.O.L.F.E.R. program.
