Robinson, a native of Valdosta and graduate of Lowndes High, earned her first career honor after posting a perfect day at the plate during Saturday’s doubleheader against the Tigers. The junior racked up five hits in five at bats, and three of those hits were for extra bases. Robinson tallied five RBI’s on the day with two homers, one double, and three walks. After adding an additional walk on Sunday in the series finale, she finished the week with 12 total bases and four runs scored.
Calhoun complemented Robinson’s offensive effort with a pair of victories in the circle. Her weekend against West Alabama included 11 strikeouts in two complete games of work. She allowed just one run in 14.0 innings of work and held opponents to a .152 batting average. Her shutout on Sunday improved her season total to eight, and she now ranks among the top pitchers in the league with an 11-3 record.
The Blazers return to Titletown this weekend with a three game set against the visiting Hawks of Shorter. The series is set to begin with a 2:00 p.m. start to a doubleheader on Saturday.
