After one year on the job, Robert Tucker Pruitt has submitted his resignation as a teacher and football coach at Lowndes High School.  He informed Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Randy McPherson Saturday morning of his intentions to resign as the Viking’s offensive coordinator in order to accept a similar position at Valdosta High.  In a statement released Saturday Coach McPherson said —

“Tucker did a good job as OC at Lowndes.  Tucker told me it was a business decision and that he could not turn down an $8,000 raise and the incentive of a free vehicle.  I wish him the best in his career.”

This will be Pruitt’s sixth coaching job in seven years and his second stop at Valdosta High.  He came to Lowndes last fall from Coffee High.  Prior to that Pruitt coached at Georgia Southern (2009), Valdosta High (2010), and Thomson High (2011).

Lowndes has begun the search for a replacement and Coach McPherson has already received several inquiries. McPherson says he hopes to fill the position rapidly.

The Vikings begin varsity spring practice on April 22 and they conclude with an inter-squad game on May 14, 2016.
