ATLANTA — The SEC has signed a new 10-year deal to keep its championship game in Atlanta through 2027 at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a source confirmed to ESPN.
The SEC title game will remain at the Georgia Dome in 2015 and 2016 before moving into Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the new home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.
The SEC’s 10-year deal in the new stadium runs from 2016 to ’27.
A news conference will be held Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. ET at the College Football Hall of Fame to announce the new agreement, a source told ESPN.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported earlier Monday that the SEC had agreed to the 10-year deal.
