Guns, drugs, cash seized following high speed chase

SYLVESTER, Ga. – A Moultrie man was arrested on drug and firearm charges following a high speed chase Wednesday that ended when he crashed into a fire hydrant and another vehicle.

Deprince Slaughter, 26, was reportedly was speeding off of Highway 33 South in Sylvester when the Sylvester Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol began pursuit. Slaughter was reportedly clocked at 115 mph during the chase.

After wrecking his vehicle, Slaughter led police on a foot chase but was eventually taken into custody.

Slaughter faces charges of possession of cocaine and possession of firearm by a convicted felon in addition to charges related to the high speed chase.
