VALDOSTA – Police have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a Valdosta store last week.

Valdosta Police Department detectives arrested Tyler Cortez Morrison, 25, at around noon on Friday at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of South Patterson Street.

Morrison was wanted for the Nov. 6. armed robbery of Unique Kollections at 1412 East Park Avenue.

At approximately 4:40 a.m., the Valdosta Police Department responded to an emergency call for service from Unique Kollections at 1412 East Park Avenue.

“The victim reported that the business had just been robbed and indicated an African American male subject had entered the business with a gun, demanding money,” said VPD Lt. Adam Bembry. “The store employee advised that the offender pointed the gun at her and made a threat of violence before snatching an undisclosed amount of money from the clerk.”

VPD officers began a search but were unable to locate the offender.

“After accessing the video surveillance, an officer was able to identify Tyler Morrison after having had previous encounters with him,” said Bembry.

Morrison was taken to the Lowndes County Jail.
