VALDOSTA – Norfolk Southern announces the railroad crossing closure at Troop Street and Oak Street to repair a GEO defect.

Norfolk Southern will close the railroad crossings at Troop St. and Oak St. starting Monday, February 10, 2025, to repair a GEO defect at the crossings. During this time, no traffic will be allowed to cross the tracks.

The repairs are expected to take four to five days. The City of Valdosta encourages drivers to plan alternate routes and appreciates the community’s patience while this essential work is completed.
