Press Release:

Provide Input on VLPRA’s Master Plan Survey

Residents Encouraged to Take Survey on Parks & Recreation

April 20, 2020 – The Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks & Recreation Authority (VLPRA) is sending out 5,500 community surveys to help the agency plan for the future. The surveys will be part of VLPRA’s Master Plan that guides the Authority’s facility development, programs, and services over the next several years.  Resident input is an important part of this process and tailors the plan to reflect the community’s desires and needs.

A random sampling of residents has been invited to take a survey, and these responses will provide statistically valid results.  If you have received a paper survey in the past few weeks, please complete it and mail it back in the postage-paid envelope OR complete it online using the instructions on the cover letter.  VLPRA is also sending out a postcard reminder this week to people who received the survey earlier.  That reminder will have the information for completing the survey online.

The results of this survey will provide critical information in determining community values, satisfaction levels, needs and priorities, and demographics for VLPRA’s long-term planning efforts.  Questions will be asked about what types of improvements residents want in their parks and recreation system and where priorities should be placed. At a later date, the online survey will be open to all residents so everyone will have a chance to give input.
