VALDOSTA, Ga. – On February 1, 2020, at approximately 8:26 a.m., patrol officers with the Valdosta Police Department responded to the 2300 block Bemiss Road, in reference to an alarm at a local car dealership.
Upon arrival, a subject, later identified as Deion McNeal, was located at the business. While speaking with McNeal officers found a window to the business had been pried open and an officer observed McNeal attempting to conceal a key fob. After investigating the case and speaking with McNeal it was determined he broke into the business and entered several vehicles in the parking lot as well. McNeal was arrested and transported to Lowndes County Jail on the following charges:
- Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary (felony);
- Criminal Trespass- Unlawful Purpose (misdemeanor);
- Three (3) counts of Entering Automobile or other Motor Vehicle with Intent to Commit Theft or Felony (felony); and
- Theft by Taking (felony).
“The business alarm was invaluable in this case,” stated Lt. Scottie Johns. “It gave our officers time to arrive on the scene and arrest the offender before he could even leave the property.”
