LOWNDES Co. – Wednesday morning brought a moment of glee as students filed into the gym at Clyattville Elementary.

Boys and girls were excited to see new, shiny bikes at their school.

“I saw one little girl in particular jump up,” says Principal Tenry Berry. “I saw kids smiling and a few teary-eyed because I think it was a dream come true for some of them.”

He says thanks to Academy Sports and local donations, students with perfect attendance were awarded with a new bike.

“I like the color of this part and this right here,” says Jahkari Brown, pointing to his new bike.

He says this year he’s attended school all day, every day.

“If I have perfect attendance, I will know all the information I will need for my next test,” says Brown.

A total of 45 students are now taking home a new set of wheels for their hard work.

“Going forward, whether it’s bicycles or something else, we really want to push attendance,” says Principal Berry.

“It’s so cool because I was just doing something normal and I got a reward for it,” adds Brown.

It’s the perfect gift for perfect attendance.
