ALBANY — A teen smoking drugs near a holding pond fell in face down after complications from his drug use.

He was a part of a group of three males smoking the drug Spice Saturday afternoon when the victim, 15, began to have complications.  He then ended up face down in the holding pond.

Albany Police reported to WALB that Emergency Medical Staff responded to the scene, behind the Regency Apartments on Tompkins Avenue about 3 p.m.

Albany Police Officer John Hoober responded to the call, removed the victim from the water and began administering CPR.  The teen was then transported to Phoebe Putney Hospital and listed in critical condition.

He was later airlifted to a hospital in Atlanta Saturday afternoon.

The Albany Police are investigating the incident.
