COFFEE CO. — A body was located in a Coffee County pond near Mahogany Road this Monday morning.

Officials of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, investigated the scene and believe that the body could be missing person, Jose Mendez Diaz.

Diaz has been missing for two weeks now. The body has been taken to the GBI crime lab for analysis.

No foul play is suspected at this point and friends of Diaz reported that he was known to be disoriented while intoxicated.

Investigators also reported that Diaz had blacked out during work before going missing.
