SGRC PLANS IN PLACE

Corey Hull of the South Georgia Regional Commission, based in Valdosta, says that big plans are being put in place to ensure pedestrian and bicycle rider safety. The initiative covers projections for growth in the area which brought to the commission an award from the Association of Development Organizations. The plan will benefit 18 areas under the Southern Georgia Regional Commission’s operation. Once the plans are submitted local municipalities and county governments must then implement the plan of action.

SHOOTING DETAILS RELEASED

More details have been released regarding the shooting of a female as she drove out of the Ora Lee West Housing Development site. Valdosta Police report that around 6:45 pm, officers responded to the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 1207 N. Ashley Street, after Whitney Myers, 28, told employees that she had been shot as she was driving out of the Ora Lee West Housing Complex.

She told police that a white man wearing a dark blue shirt shot at her.
