ATHENS — A University of Georgia student was found dead over the weekend, the result of an apparent suicide.

Athens-Clarke County police are investigating the weekend death of a University of Georgia student, according to reports in the Athens Banner-Herald.

John Eden, 22, was found dead of a gunshot wound at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday in his pickup truck parked at the gas pumps of a Lexington Road convenience store, according to a police report. Police do not suspect foul play.

The report notes a handgun was recovered from the truck.
