VALDOSTA — The City of Valdosta has announced the departure of Human Resources Director Jennie Boyer after five years.

Valdosta, GA- The City of Valdosta announces the departure of Human Resources Director Jennie Boyer following five years of dedicated service to the city.

During her tenure with the City, Boyer provided leadership within the Human Resources Department and supported numerous initiatives aimed at serving City employees and strengthening internal operations. The City appreciates her commitment and contributions during her time with Valdosta and wishes her well in her future endeavors.

To ensure continuity of operations, Jessica Stowe has been appointed to serve as Acting Human Resources Director. In this interim role, Stowe will oversee the daily functions of the Human Resources Department while the City conducts its search for a permanent director.

The City of Valdosta is initiating the process to identify its next Human Resources Director and intends to engage Mercer Group Associates to assist with the recruitment effort. Mercer Group Associates has extensive experience supporting local governments across Georgia in conducting executive leadership searches.

The recruitment process is expected to closely mirror the comprehensive approach recently used in the selection of the City’s new Fire Chief. The process will include a thorough evaluation of qualified candidates to ensure the City continues to attract experienced and effective leadership to this critical role.

City Manager Jennifer Wheeler will lead the recruitment process and make the final appointment of the City’s next Human Resources Director.
