VALDOSTA, Ga.— This year, Georgia Tech’s annual Smart Communities Challenge chose a county and three cities to participate, including Valdosta. Georgia Tech focused this year’s challenge and funding on traffic and transportation communications. Valdosta took advantage of this opportunity by networking 128 traffic signals through an improved monitoring system. This will enhance the efficiency of travel in Valdosta along with safety.
