Valdosta Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire on Simpson Street 

On Monday, May 04, 2020, the Valdosta Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 310 Simpson Street. The call came in from dispatch at 3:44 p.m. The first fire unit arrived within three minutes and reported heavy smoke coming from a mobile home.  Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire.  

The resident was out of the house upon the fire department’s arrival. The cause of the fire was determined to be fragrance candle wax left on the stove. There were no injuries reported. A total of 16 VFD personnel responded to the scene.
