ALBANY — Dougherty County Police are investigating a case involving a 10-year-old boy being hospitalized after consuming alcohol.

The child was sent to a hospital in Macon after a family member noticed him acting strange on Thursday.

The Dougherty County School’s Police turned the case over to Dougherty County Police once they received knowledge that the child did not drink the alcohol on Radium Springs Elementary school property.

According to a WALB report, Lt. Chad Kirkpatrick with Dougherty Co. Police said, “The school police began the initial investigation and they determined it did not happen at school. So that’s something we’re investigating to see where it happened at. And see if it did happen at the child’s house or not.”
