WORTH — UPDATE: Phillip Kelley has been arrested and charged with Criminal attempt to commit theft by receiving, conspiracy to commit theft by receiving, fleeing and attempting to elude officers, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, and party to a crime of obstruction/ hindering law enforcement officers.
Kelley was with passenger, Crystal Harry when he refused to pull over during a traffic stop on Highway 520.
Worth County Sheriff’s office deputies shot and killed Harry on Thursday after chasing Kelley’s vehicle.
The GBI and the Sheriff’s office were investigating a traffic stop when deputies attempted to pull over Kelley’s car on Highway 520. Kelley fled the scene leading deputies to chase the vehicle all the way to Highway 133 in Worth County, where he eventually wrecked.
Harry exited the car and pulled out a gun on the deputies.
Officials found 11 stolen guns and meth inside the car and closed off the area for an investigation.
